Now let's see if Liverpool do the same trick. And, while we're at it, come on Northampton... it wouldn't do to see you relegated to the Conference just when LTFC regain some kind of respectability.

Mike Hart says:
15/04/14 9:57 pm
minus30points to Conference Champions. Cheers, Kidderminster :-)

Mike Hart says:
12/04/14 3:38 pm
Egad! LTFC defeated by Braintree at Kenilworth Road. And no chance of micro-minnows Hyde beating Cambridge... Bah!

Anthony Hart says:
12/04/14 10:57 am
We should all be aware that if Luton win today, or Cambridge United don't win, -30pts will transform from a caterpillar to a butterfly (or perhaps just change his name?)

Anthony Hart says:
11/04/14 9:38 pm
If RG enters no predictions for the next 3 weeks then there might be a race on. Do you fancy it Julian?

Mike Hart says:
29/03/14 9:40 pm
@Anthony - What? Are you saying that Rush Goalies can't be caught?

Anthony Hart says:
29/03/14 11:20 am
Prizes may be a possibility. If you look at "About Us" on the Homepage it says "If you want to help promote us, send us some money, blag us some prizes or help out with aspects of running or improving the site you are more than welcome.". However, it then goes on to say they are a bit rubbish at this sort of thing - so this could go either way. The glory of being NQAPL champion may have to be enough

Julian says:
15/03/14 9:06 am
Thanks Anthony. The pressure's getting to me... The main reason I want to win is to see what happens. Would I get a nice email from the organisers?

Anthony Hart says:
14/03/14 7:20 pm
Mike, you might not be counting your chickens but your MD says you're heading for the Premier League: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26467450

Come on Rush Goalies by the way - sorry to see you've lost your lead - we hope temporarily

Mike Hart says:
01/03/14 4:58 pm
Luton... 20 goals in 4 games without reply... 7-0. 5-0, 5-0, 3-0... I'll be very pleased to change my name from -30, but you don't count your chickens when your an LTFC supporter...

Anthony Hart says:
01/03/14 1:00 pm
I see that -30pts is putting in his usual late-season burst and has overtaken me (deja vu). You'll have to change your name though if Luton continues their current form - 14pts clear with 15 games left!!

Anthony Hart says:
31/01/14 8:21 pm
3 cheers? I was going to say that normally getting into the top 10 for the Manager of the Month would be highly noteworthy, but it's only a bronze medal in NQAPL terms. Well done chaps!

Mike Hart says:
30/01/14 12:51 pm
Lord knows why that last comment got triplicated...

Mike Hart says:
30/01/14 12:50 pm
Week 20 - a good week for our League: Rush Goalies top overall (by a *mile*), minus30points Manager of the Week and three of the top 10 Managers of the Month from our league (Rush Goalies, Mr Shark and minus30points). Good work!

Inspired!

Julian says:
15/01/14 7:20 am
Thanks Eddie and Anthony. I spent couple of hours while we were out on Saturday afternoon feeling annoyed with myself for moving Johnson out of my predictions, only to get home to find he was still there. I did a little dance, I must admit.

Eddie Smith says:
13/01/14 11:27 pm
Congratulations to Julian. Manager of the week as well as top of the league! Well done for picking Adam Johnson as a scorer. You must have remembered his prowess from his Manchester City days!

Anthony Hart says:
27/12/13 11:24 am
Must feel even greater to be 14pts clear - and in the top 10 for December too - Hartiest congratulations. Moonraker and Minus30 are getting scarily close to the Shark's tail too - I could do with Predicting a Scorer sometime soon.

Eddie Smith says:
07/12/13 11:59 pm
Top of the league (as at end of Saturday 7th December)! Congratulations to Julian. I bet it feels great to be four points clear.

Harry Scott says:
09/11/13 8:45 pm
Hello everyone, I'm Harry a relative of carolyn and anthony's! Went to liverpool with them today and got a perfect 5 points!

Julian says:
20/10/13 7:22 pm
Not yet, Eddie, not yet.

Eddie Smith says:
07/10/13 10:12 pm
The international break has come just as I'm hitting a bit of form. I'll get rusty again..

Julian says:
07/10/13 9:07 pm
I'm a bit worried about that Moonraker guy. He's got past form, you know, and he seems to be getting into his stride...

Anthony Hart says:
06/10/13 8:08 pm
A bad week for Mr Shark - I was the biggest faller in the current (overall) Top 30. Rush Goalies is still looking good though.

Andrew MacDonald says:
05/10/13 1:52 pm
im doing well - im not bottom!

Mike Hart says:
30/09/13 10:40 pm
Like Man Utd, this is my worst start to Predict the Score since 1989...

Julian says:
28/09/13 7:29 pm
There's a shark gaining on me!

Anthony Hart says:
28/09/13 10:02 am
Mike, you recovered in the second half thankfully. Not like you not to predict Sessegnon though? (but I hope he doesn't repeat the feat this week!). I also chose Remy, then removed him at the last minute - bad move

Mike Hart says:
21/09/13 7:09 pm
Oooh, that was an ugly day... 1 point from 6 games. Ouch.

Mike Hart says:
14/09/13 5:35 pm
Finally, a single point in the Predict the Scorer...

Anthony Hart says:
06/09/13 11:02 pm
Nothing strange about leading the way - see "20/08/13 10:31 am" (he says, enjoying it while he can)

Julian says:
02/09/13 10:57 am
Also, Not Quite A Premier League is 3rd in the leagues of leagues. Go us!

Julian says:
01/09/13 9:31 pm
Between the end of the 3 o'clock matches and sometime during Crystal Palace v Sunderland I was 1st overall. But then Gayle and Fletcher scored and I dropped to 3rd. I wish I'd taken a screen shot because it doesn't register that I was ever top. Perhaps it never really happened. :( It'll certainly never happen again...

Mind you, when it's this early in the season, you do get some strange teams leading the way, don't you?

Mike Hart says:
01/09/13 5:04 pm
Fortress Anfield indeed. Never been happier to score zero points for a fixture.

Mike Hart says:
01/09/13 12:38 pm
Still a chance of a goal scorer... just about... Somehow the AVFC badge has become associated with 'England fans'. Will enquire of the admin folk as to why that is so.

Anthony Hart says:
31/08/13 9:26 pm
One goalscorer still left this week Mike, so perhaps you've still a chance? I wouldn't bet on RVP tomorrow at Fortress Anfield. How come you're registered as an Aston Villa fan this year?

Congratulations to Rush Goalies - 3rd in the game overnight!

Mike Hart says:
31/08/13 7:13 am
I'm looking forward to breaking my duck and actually getting a point in the Predict the Scorer part of the competition...

Eddie Smith says:
21/08/13 6:38 pm
Wow! Very sensitive programming if one game alters the outcome of the whole season so much! If Stoke had scored their penalty would Liverpool be predicted to be third instead of second? Do you feed in details of the new signings and injuries? If so, would a Van Persie injury stop Manchester United winning the title?

Anthony Hart says:
20/08/13 10:31 am
Predict The League revisited ... After the first round of games my program has changed its mind significantly about the final outcome and now says:
1) Man U, 2) Liverpool, 3) Man C, 4) Chelsea, 5) Spurs, 6) Arsenal (sorry Eddie again!)

Anyone else winning to throw their predicting hat into this ring (or their foot into their mouth?)

Andrew MacDonald says:
17/08/13 3:05 pm
happy to try and predict the league althought i do think maybe Man U may wobble this season - they dont seem to have the same pull as when fergie was in charge! Although still a little while to go as far as tfrs are concerned

Eddie Smith says:
16/08/13 9:54 pm
My prediction is probably the same as the BBC but I think that Chelsea and Man City will be a long way ahead of the next four.

On the other hand, this could be the season that Aaron Ramsey realises the potential that he had a couple of seasons ago, Theo Walcott blossoms and Yaya Sanogo proves to be the new Anelka. Then Arsenal might finish third!

Anthony Hart says:
16/08/13 9:12 pm
How about Predict The League?
The BBC website says: 1) Chelsea, 2) Man C, 3) Man U, 4) Spurs, 5) Arsenal, 6) Liverpool
Bookmakers reckon: 1) Man C, 2) Chelsea, 3) Man U, 4) Arsenal, 5) Liverpool, 6) Spurs
My program says: 1) Man U, 2) Liverpool, 3) Chelsea, 4) Arsenal, 5) Man C, 6) Spurs
but I reckon: 1) Man U, 2) Liverpool, 3) Spurs, 4) Man C, 5) Chelsea, 6) Everton (sorry Eddie!)

Any offers?

Andrew MacDonald says:
16/08/13 7:05 pm
well the code worked thanks Mike look forward to the upcoming season. Lets see how Anthonys cleve software does this year !!!

Mike Hart says:
01/06/13 8:38 am
Congrats to Sharky - could not match your predict the scorer skills this year...

Eddie Smith says:
19/05/13 9:42 pm
Congratulations to Mr Shark! Top of our league and 15th overall! Second top among Liverpool fans too.

Sadly, the answers to my questions at 3.11 were all "no". But three out of the top 23 is pretty good!

Eddie Smith says:
19/05/13 3:11 pm
Final week! Can Mr Shark get into the top ten? Can our mini league end with three in the Top 20? Four in the Top 50?

Julian says:
26/04/13 7:41 pm
That 'problem' doesn't seem to have hurt your predict the scorer score too much, Eddie.

Eddie Smith says:
07/04/13 9:14 pm
Does anyone else notice that "goalscorers" suddenly become players that set up goals for others when they're picked or is it just me?

Anthony Hart says:
02/03/13 10:38 am
For supporters of teams like LIverpool and Luton, 4th place would be a very acceptable finish indeed given our current league positions. Doing better than 4th in the league of leagues is probably beyond us, as there's quite a gap to make up - but you never know

Eddie Smith says:
02/03/13 9:47 am
Even those of us who are getting a bit left behind have some reason to keep going. Not Quite A Premier League is fourth in the league of leagues. I think of fourth place as a trophy (I am an Arsenal fan, after all).

Anthony Hart says:
26/02/13 8:18 pm
Mr DoT Manager of the Week and leading Manager of the Month with a week to go - well impressed!

Anthony Hart says:
17/02/13 5:57 pm
You and Mr DoT were seen right in the end (just back from seeing the 5-0 - which was a far happier experience than Monday's 0-2)

Mike Hart says:
11/02/13 11:14 pm
Looks like my picking all Liverpool players for Pick the Scorer this week was a real stroke of genius. Not.

Eddie Smith says:
10/02/13 10:46 pm
Congratulations to Anthony. Another top ten performance this week, even nearer the top in the monthly rankings and in the over all top ten. Of course, there's still two Liverpool games to come this week and, as with your inside knowledge, you must be confident of getting those scores correct too!

Mike Hart says:
10/02/13 10:16 pm
Can't touch Mr Shark's goal scoring picks lately... Now 10th overall...

Eddie Smith says:
10/02/13 10:16 pm
Congratulations to Anthony. Another top ten performance this week, even nearer the top in the monthly rankings and in the over all top ten. Of course, there's still two Liverpool games to come this week and, as with your inside knowledge, you must be confident of getting those scores correct too!

Anthony Hart says:
08/02/13 8:27 pm
... but has anyone else noticed who is in 5th in the Achievements league? Dad, It seems you won the Manager of the Month once, as well as Manager of the Week - I must confess I never noticed the former. In fact 10 more points would make you 4th - and that's what you get if select your favourite Premiership team. So make it Liverpool - go on, you know it makes sense!!!!

Julian says:
03/02/13 9:07 pm
Well done Mr Shark - 2nd in Manager of the Week

Mike Hart says:
31/01/13 11:32 pm
If you are tied on points then you are ranked on the Predict the Score component of your overall score.

Anthony Hart says:
31/01/13 7:34 pm
I was hoping I might regain the lead through a clever name change - clearly it's not alphabetical order when the points are equal. Pah! Glad -30pts is back on the scene.

Anthony Hart says:
30/01/13 10:32 pm
Not sure I like the way the name and shame game is going now

Julian says:
30/01/13 9:00 pm
This is fun.

Eddie Smith says:
29/01/13 10:15 pm
Maybe I should change my team name to "LostFormAfterChristmas".

Anthony Hart says:
29/01/13 8:31 pm
Mike, if you're just going to name your team after random phrases from the article in the link below, why not call yourself "comprehensively turned over by Liverpool"? Has a certain ring to it ne c'est pas?

Anthony Hart says:
29/01/13 8:27 pm
Never knew you were allowed to change your team name mid-game!

Mike Hart says:
26/01/13 7:34 pm
http://www.lutontown.co.uk/news/article/norwich-report-621212.aspx?pageView=full#anchored

Mike Hart says:
01/01/13 5:18 pm
Totterdown finally caught...

Anthony Hart says:
30/12/12 11:05 pm
I got my 4pts - and so did Eddie. If he hadn't, minus30points would have been just minus 1pt. But as it stands there's now just 5pts between 1st and 2nd (and he's overtaken me too)

Anthony Hart says:
28/12/12 6:09 pm
Shoulda, woulda, coulda ... I had Jonjo Shelvey a few weeks back (on 4pts a goal) when Liverpool played West Ham, but "his goal" was classified as an Own Goal. Now the Dubious Goals Panel has ruled it was in fact a Shelvey goal - will I get my 4 pts?

Anthony Hart says:
27/12/12 9:52 am
I see many of us missed a trick this round - predicting 0-0 for the postponed Arsenal v West Ham game would have got you 5 points! Perhaps they'll correct this when the fixture pops up mid-Jan

Mike Hart says:
16/12/12 7:39 pm
Disappointed I failed to predict for the Man City game :-( Blame Christmas. There's three points that I won't get back. But, as I am fond of saying, coulda, woulda, shoulda...

Julian says:
09/12/12 6:41 pm
The plan is that predicting a Man Utd win will provide *some* consolation. Didn't need that consolation last season, but it does feel like this year more consolation will be needed, more frequently.

Eddie Smith says:
09/12/12 6:39 pm
Congratulations to Julian on getting the score of the Manchester derby dead right. And commiserations too.

Mike Hart says:
08/12/12 8:57 pm
Just noticed that, despite all Mr Shark's statistical prognostications, he has accrued exactly the same number of points for the Predict the Score part of the game as a straight 1-0 home win prediction for every game. Go Dad!

Anthony Hart says:
24/11/12 10:54 am
Only 3pts separate 2nd and 5th - so the weekend could see some big changes in positions - being 5th I have nothing to lose but distance to minus30points

Eddie Smith says:
05/11/12 10:36 pm
Back down to 5th again. The same position as our league in the league of leagues!

Julian says:
05/11/12 6:38 pm
I commented below at the end of Saturday's fixtures. Eddie's now 3rd overall.

Julian says:
03/11/12 7:25 pm
Excellent work, Eddie - 5th overall and 2nd in Manager of the week. Thought I was just beginning to catch up on you...

Mike Hart says:
21/10/12 11:52 pm
Coulda, shoulda, woulda,,, :-)

Anthony Hart says:
21/10/12 7:38 pm
Mr Shark is gutted! (I guess it happens to fish who get caught?). Cleverly predicted Mark Noble to score this week at 5pts a goal - and he scored twice. But I entered the data in a rush and seem to have clicked on another West Ham player. Now in 4th rather than staying 2nd ... hmmm

Eddie Smith says:
06/10/12 11:52 pm
It's luck really, this weekend, I looked for players worth a lot of points who were likely to start in games that their teams might score in. I think Mr Shark did the same with Wayne Routledge and James Morrison.

Mike Hart says:
06/10/12 4:14 pm
Black magic, I say.

Julian says:
06/10/12 4:01 pm
Eddie - how on earth are you picking these scorers? Noel Hunt? Zoltan Gera? It's uncanny, that's what it is.

Julian says:
06/10/12 3:49 pm
Eddie - how on earth are you picking these scorers? Noel Hunt? Zoltan Gera? It's uncanny, that's what it is.

Eddie Smith says:
16/09/12 7:33 pm
...thanks quite a lot to Michu, who was raved about by my Swansea supporting colleague at work before the season started.

Julian says:
16/09/12 6:45 pm
And Eddie's 6th in the whole thing!

Julian says:
16/09/12 6:45 pm
And Eddie's 6th in the whole thing!

Mike Hart says:
16/09/12 6:24 pm
Anthony is so high in the table he must be getting a nosebleed.

Mike Hart says:
24/08/12 7:05 pm
Yeah, well if you can defeat a uniform prediction of 1-0 home wins I'll start to take an interest :-)

Anthony Hart says:
24/08/12 7:01 pm
Though Mike says I'm like a cracked record, today marks the first use of a new computer program (yet another). Early results are quite promising, but not earth-shattering. Last week's 19pts would have been 24 with the new model - but every little helps. Mike will be pleased to note that the new program picks fewer draws ... so Mike, let battle commence!

James Jillians says:
22/08/12 10:13 pm
Can't believe I didn't notice that Chelsea and Reading were playing twice this week!

Anthony Hart says:
18/08/12 8:09 pm
No thanks to me, but after 1 day we are top of the league of leagues! Well done to Totterdown Moonraker, Drinker of Tea and Not Quite a Premier League for making it happen. I will bask in reflected glory from the bottom of the table.

Mike Hart says:
21/06/12 8:34 pm
Damn! Forgot to predict for Portugal v CR.... :-(((

Mike Hart says:
10/06/12 10:17 pm
I think it's clear that my knowledge of European football needs some work...

Julian says:
17/05/12 10:11 pm
Thanks Eddie and Anthony. A memorable season. Can we do it all again, starting next week, please?

Eddie Smith says:
13/05/12 5:39 pm
Congratulations to Julian (twice!) Sadly my hopes of hat tricks from Benayoun, Di Santo and Lukaku didn't come to fruition. There were some other strange things happening on the last day of the season though.

Anthony Hart says:
13/05/12 1:27 pm
Julian, This is the advert I was referring to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2HW_BYozQA
Good luck today though!!

Anthony Hart says:
13/05/12 1:26 pm

Anthony Hart says:
04/05/12 8:22 pm
Can't help but notice that Mr Rush Goalies had his team down to lose 2-1 to Utd. There's an advert doing the rounds at the moment with that theme!

Mike Hart says:
22/04/12 10:33 pm
Looks like a good week for Anthony. For once. :-)

Julian says:
21/04/12 4:22 pm
One thing I've learned as a Man City fan is never to count one's chickens.

Anthony Hart says:
21/04/12 9:53 am
Looks like Julian now has a decisive lead! Mike seems to be coming up on the rails to compete unexpectedly for 2nd place, but the gap looks too large to bridge. Anthony G and Mark may yet stage a fightback and get third. How can I be 150 points behind Julian ... and 20 points behind Carolyn?

Eddie Smith says:
18/03/12 4:32 pm
Just in case you've chosen an Aston Villa or Bolton scorer this week: Their game on Tuesday has been postponed due to what has happened to Fabrice Muamba.

Anthony Hart says:
17/03/12 10:09 am
I was going to add that at least I was shrewd enough to have Steven Gerrard as a scorer last week, but thought I should check that I hadn't changed my mind at the last moment. When I picked him he was 2pts per goal, but they've only awarded 1pt - so I agree with Eddie - PTS are Everton fans!

Anthony Hart says:
17/03/12 10:06 am
With Dad's top performance last week, I am now last of those who have been playing all season - so much for the power of my fine program

Mike Hart says:
11/03/12 11:44 am
Our very own 'Not Quite a Premier League' aka Dad tops the 'Best this week' so far with his 1-0 home win strategy bringing a hefty 23 points from 6 games + 3 cheeky goal scorer points. Well done Dad on a cunning strategy.

Eddie Smith says:
04/03/12 12:37 am
I think that the PredictTheScore people are Everton fans. They haven't recognised QPR's equaliser against them today.

P.s. I missed out on 5 points today because of Arsenal's late second goal today but for some reason it doesn't seem very upsetting.

Julian says:
12/02/12 8:43 pm
They've decided to give it to Pilkington after all!

Julian says:
11/02/12 9:35 pm
Eddie - the BBC have credited Anthony Pilkington with Norwich's 2nd goal, but Predict the Premiership haven't! By rights you should be 2 points ahead in the title race. But I guess we have to go with what they decide...

Anthony Hart says:
02/12/11 4:45 pm
Reasons to be cheerful ... I've overtaken Dad and am catching up with Carolyn ... but perhaps I need a better program?

Julian says:
20/11/11 6:23 pm
Hello Rachel. Don't worry, Anthony has pretty low points too, and he's been in it since the start.

Julian says:
20/11/11 6:19 pm
Hello Rachel. Don't worry, Anthony has pretty low points too, and he's been in it since the start.

Anthony Hart says:
18/11/11 6:27 pm
Mike, As I am near the bottom of the league, is there any solace to be found for me in the Guardian pts league? I can't help but feel I should really be doing better than this. Like Liverpool I keep hitting the woodwork (metaphorically that is!)

Julian says:
24/10/11 8:44 pm
I know it's not to do with our league, but I've just got to say it... 1-6 !!!

Mike Hart says:
03/10/11 9:24 pm
Just for the record, the person winning the overall Guardian Score competition is, ironically, 'Arsenal' (http://predictthescore.net/leaderboard/profile.php?i=&j=2931) on 76 points

Mike Hart says:
03/10/11 5:46 am
The equivalent standings for The Guardian scores:

Joe City,47
Totterdown Moonraker,46
minus30points,43
Biscuiteers,42
Rush Goalies,41
Mr Shark,38
